Few ditch their regular jobs after being elected.Rep. Ed Garner, R-Maumelle, said he is feeling the pressure. The freshman lawmaker said he may take on a managing partner to share the workload at his bakery, Mama's Manna Bakery in Maumelle."It's pretty hard ... to be a working person in your business and then have the challenge of doing a good job in the Legislature," Garner said.

A new way to think globally: The latest spin on antique and modern globes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- There's a galaxy of globes out there. Celestial globes map stars and constellations. Lunar globes depict the craters, seas and mountain ranges of Earth's moon. Terrestrial globes, the most common type, represent the world's continents, countries and cities. All show places in small spheres, making them feel within reach.

"Globes symbolize possibilities," said Andy Newcom, Hallmark's home decor expert, who accessorizes his Kansas City house with globes. "They signify seeing new places and things and meeting new people."

Newcom likes how globes look grouped together on a shelf or table. Their round shape unifies a collection, even though their styles and sizes may vary wildly.

Replogle, one of two American globe manufacturers, makes more than 120 models.

Evansville Civil War flag returns

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A blue silk flag carried by soldiers of Evansville's 25th Indiana Volunteer Regiment during the Civil War was welcomed back to the Indiana War Memorial on Monday.
The 6-foot-by-6 1/2-foot flag was hidden in public sight for the last few years in a frame on the ceiling of a bank in a small northeastern Indiana town. It is unclear where it was for the last decade or more since it vanished from the war memorial's collection.
Museum officials had known the flag was missing since a mid-1990s inventory. A 1980s inventory accounted for it, but records do not indicate whether someone might have borrowed it, said Stewart Goodwin, the memorial's executive director.
Keith Lourdeau, special agent in charge of the FBI's Indianapolis office, officially turned it over to the war memorial Monday, but its route back from the ceiling of the Waterloo branch of the First National Bank of Fremont began in 2000.
